The BCD maintains the pressure and has 0 leaks. Each valve release mechanism on the BCD is fully intact and like-new, and none of the release mechanisms have ever been damaged or replaced. The air from the bladder, when released, has a proper neutral smell and is not foul in any way, which, if so, can often be a good sign that a BCD was not properly cared for / maintained.
All of the stitching over the entire BCD is fully intact and shows no signs of wear or damage. All snaps, clips, zippers, and connections - to include the Surelock Weight System - are perfectly functional and like-new. The velcro on the tank strap and the surelock weight system is also like-new and shows no fraying, wear, or damage. Air hose connection from octo is in like-new condition and has always been covered with the included rubber cap after being cleaned, dried, and put away for storage, and has absolutely no leaks upon connection.
BCD inflates via the push-button mechanism perfectly and quickly just as it did when it was brand new. The BCD has seen a couple dozen dives, whereafter each dive it was babied with the following cleaning regimen: fully submerged and scrubbed in fresh water with a soft bristled brush for approximately 10min, opening main valve and letting fresh water enter the BCD, whereupon Id roll the BCD over and over so the fresh water would reach all areas of the inside of the bladder, and then dump through main valve while squeezing BCD to my chest. This process would be repeated with more and more fresh water, each time releasing the fresh water through a different release valve several times over to also rinse each valve of any residual saltwater. BCD was always hung to dry indoors or in shade after cleaning process and was at no point ever exposed to direct sunlight to dry or for storage. Cleaning process for BCD alone would rarely be less than a half hour, and religiously done shortly after each dive before it dried. Call me crazy, but I regarded this as quality gear (and still do), and treated it and maintained it as such.Storage has always been in climate controlled closet or room. This is a lightly used but like-new BCD that is perfectly functional. The only cosmetic wear that I can discern are some scratches near the button and mouthpiece used to inflate the BCD. I can include two 5lb weights that go into the Surelock weight system if youd like at no extra cost. Let me know if you have any questions!
